Ontario Geography Resources
Ontario Grade 7 and 8 Geography Curriculum Expectations
The social studies, history, geography, and Canadian and world studies programs aim to empower students to become responsible and active members of the diverse communities in which they live. These programs also strive to help students become critical thinkers and informed citizens who value inclusivity. Students will acquire the necessary skills to address important issues, events, and developments and effectively communicate their ideas and decisions through these subjects.

To achieve this vision (The Ontario Curriculum Standards), the program focuses on helping students:

-
Develop the ability to use disciplinary thinking concepts to analyze and understand issues, events, and developments.
-
Learn how to evaluate information and evidence and make informed judgements.
-
Develop skills and personal attributes essential for discipline-specific inquiry and can be applied in other areas of life.
-
Build collaborative and cooperative working relationships.
-
Utilize technology as a tool for gathering and analyzing information, problem-solving, and communication.
